The Federal Government has released the results of the 2024 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admission into federal unity colleges and the Federal Government Academy (FGA), Suleja. However, the results of 52 candidates have been withheld due to their alleged involvement in examination irregularities.
According to the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, the level of malpractice in this year’s examination is unprecedented. The affected candidates, who are from Rivers and Lagos States, will have their results released if they are found not guilty after investigation.
The minister announced the release of the results at a news conference in Abuja, highlighting that the NCEE is a highly competitive examination that strengthens the country’s unity. He also assured parents that the government will continue to improve infrastructural development, feeding, and teacher quality in federal unity colleges.
The results show that 71,291 candidates registered for the examination, with 66,931 sitting for it and 4,360 absent. One candidate obtained the highest score of 203, while 13 candidates scored the lowest at 1.
The admission criteria for federal unity colleges remain the same, with 60% on merit, 30% on equality of state, and 10% on exigency.
