The National Association of Nigerian Students NANS NATIONAL has praised the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), for his landmark achievements as he marks two years in office.
Since assuming duty on August 21, 2023, Dr. Tunji-Ojo has led bold reforms that have reshaped the Ministry of Interior. His unprecedented clearance of passport backlogs, introduction of efficient passport delivery systems, and modernization of immigration services have earned him wide acclaim, especially among Nigerian students seeking global academic and professional opportunities.
In a statement signed by Comrade Adeyemi Samson, the National Public Relations Officer of NANS, the association commended Dr. Tunji-Ojo for his visionary leadership. According to Samson, “Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is not just serving, he is inspiring. He is not only reforming, he is rebuilding hope.”
NANS also applauded the Minister’s humane reforms in the correctional system leading to the release and rehabilitation of inmates as well as his forward-looking proposal for a Paramilitary Academy, which is expected to strengthen security and create new opportunities for youth leadership.
Speaking further, Comrade Adeyemi Samson (NANS PRO) emphasized that the Minister has remained a dependable ally of Nigerian students through his open-door policy, consistent engagement with student leaders, and unwavering support for campus peace. “At critical moments when some sought to distract or discredit his efforts, Nigerian students stood firmly in his defence because we are witnesses to his integrity, his results, and his tireless service to the nation,” he added.
On behalf of over 40 million Nigerian students, NANS NATIONAL reaffirmed its unwavering support for Dr. Tunji-Ojo, describing him as a leader whose two years in office have set a standard worthy of celebration.
